56 Clubs & Organisations allocated €30,770 in 2025 Club Development funding from Mayo Sports Partnership

At a recent Mayo Sports Partnership Committee meeting €30,770 was allocated to 56 clubs / community organisations in Mayo through the Partnerships 2025 Club Development Small grant scheme. This significant support is only possible through Sport Ireland and Dormant Account funding.

To be eligible for support all applicants needed to be a community or voluntary club / group. A full listing of those in receipt of funding is attached or can be found by logging on to the Sports Partnerships website at https://ow.ly/Xmc650WeS7F
Announcing the allocations Chairperson of the Partnership Lyndon Jones congratulated all organisations on their great work promoting sport / physical activity in the community.
Some of the projects submitted for assistance includes integration sports programmes, participation initiatives for people with disabilities, women in sport initiatives, support for new sports such as pickleball, along with volunteer coach education training assistance for sports such as athletics, swimming and surfing.
Sport Ireland recently revealed the results of its Irish Sports Monitor 2024 survey, which shows that active sports participation has reached its highest ever level – with 49% of the population taking part in sport on a weekly basis in 2024, up from 47% in 2023.
