The Switching on of #Belmullet Christmas lights will take place this Saturday 30th November at 6pm.

Please note, this is an outdoor event and no seating is provided. You are encouraged to bring blankets, camp chairs etc. and to dress appropriately and wrap up warm. In the event of rain, some covering will be provided in the viewing area.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pets are not permitted.

Get ready for a magical evening as Newport transforms into a winter wonderland! The Newport Business Association is hosting a Festive Christmas Market on Meddlicott Street, complete with the annual Christmas Lights switch-on and a special visit from the man of the season, Santa himself!

Santa and his elves launched the Taugheen Community Council Christmas Raffle on his recent visit to Taugheen Hall. First prize is a Trailer of Turf (sourced locally in Derryfad Bog). The raffle will be held in Fordes Country Club on Sat. Dec 14th at 10pm. Refreshments, Treats, Guests, Music and lots of Festive Fun on the night.

Santa lauded the wide range of community activities promoted by the Council during the year. He switched on the Christmas Lights, selected the fancy dress winners, presented free gifts to the children, officiated at the Litter Awareness Art Project and mingled merrily with the large Yuletide gathering.
