The CLÁR funding scheme is a targeted investment programme for rural areas that aims to provide funding for small infrastructural projects in rural areas that have experienced significant levels of de-population.
Funding is available for the following measures:
Measure 1 Developing Community Facilities & Amenities
Measure 2 Mobility, Cancer Care, Community First Responder and Meals on Wheels Transport
Measure 3 ‘Our Living Islands’
Only Measure 1 is administered by Local Authorities, Measures 2 & 3 are by direct application to the Department of Rural and Community Development
Please note: ALL PROJECTS MUST BE DELIVERED AND FUNDING DRAWN DOWN WITHIN 18 MONTHS OF FUNDING APPROVAL
Applications are invited under Measure 1 to Mayo County Council.

Closing Date for Receipt of online applications under Measure 1 is:
3pm on Thursday 8th May 2025.
Measures 2 & 3 application forms, which are available on www.mayo.ie, must be submitted directly to the Department of Rural and Community Development by email to [email protected]
Closing date for receipt of Measure 2 applications to the Department is Friday 23rd May 2025. Closing date for receipt of Measure 3 applications to the Department is Friday 13th June 2025.
