Climate Action Week 2025 Grants for Community Groups

Mayo County Council are proud to participate in National Climate Action Week from October 13th to 19th, 2025. This initiative, coordinated by An Taisce’s Climate Action Team on behalf of the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, aims to showcase and strengthen our collective efforts on climate action.

Local community and voluntary groups are invited to apply for funding to organize events that raise awareness and inspire action on climate issues.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday, September 17th, 2025

Key Information Points:

  • Grants of up to €500 are available per group, with a total allocation of €5,000 available for community-led events.
  • Eligible events must be engaging, inclusive, and promote climate action or awareness. Examples include:
    • Information-sharing sessions
    • Demonstrator or “how-to” workshops
    • Public engagement activities
    • Sustainable food events
    • Travel or transport-themed activities
    • Tree planting or biodiversity walks or talks
    • Creative awareness events (storytelling, arts, music, comedy, cabaret, games)
    • Swap shops or Repair & Share events
    • Movie screenings or panel discussions
