Mayo Fleadh Concert to Kick Off Festivities at Ballina Arts Centre

The excitement is building for the Mayo Fleadh Concert, which will take place on Saturday, April 19th , 2025, at 8:00pm in Ballina Arts Centre. This highly anticipated event will mark the official launch of this year’s Mayo Fleadh, running from May 3rd to 11th, 2025, bringing a packed schedule of traditional music, song, and dance to Ballina.

A Spectacular Lineup of Irish Talent

The concert boasts an outstanding lineup of performers. Audiences can look forward to the O’Donnell Family, known for their soulful harmonies and rich musical heritage, alongside Stephen Doherty, a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist whose talent continues to captivate trad enthusiasts. David Doocey, a master of the fiddle, will showcase his electrifying performances, while Fergal Ó Murchú brings his signature passion and energy to the stage.

Speaking about the upcoming concert, Stephen Doherty said: “We’re thrilled to be performing at this year’s Mayo Fleadh Concert. It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Mayo’s incredible tradition of music, song, and dance with audiences of all ages.”

Adding to the magic of the night, the Mayo Teenage Trad Ensemble will highlight the next generation of musical talent, and the Piper’s Cross Céilí Band promises to get feet tapping with their lively and energetic sets. Seoda, a talented group of young musicians from Mayo, Sligo, and Roscommon will also take to the stage on the night. Seoda, were crowned Siansa Gael Linn 2025 champions at The National Concert Hall in Dublin earlier this month. With many more special guests yet to be announced, this concert is set to be a night to remember.

A Celebration of Music, Culture, and Community

Edel Doherty, PRO of Connacht Comhaltas, added: “Excitement is really building now as we head into Fleadh season. The committee have been working hard behind the scenes to put together a fantastic programme of events that will showcase our rich tradition and welcome musicians, dancers, and music lovers of all ages to Ballina for the Fleadh.”
