The Public Participation Network (PPN) works in partnership with Mayo County Council and is the main link through which the local authority connects with the community, voluntary and environmental sectors.
Mayo Public Participation Network recently held elections for Mayo County Council Strategic Policy Committees (SPC’s) on Thursday 24th October 2019 in Breaffy House Hotel, Castlebar.
The new members elected to the SPC Committees include:
Leanne Barrett & Edith Geraghty elected to the Housing SPC
Liam Alex Heffron & Austin F. O’Malley elected to the Corporate, Education, Culture, Heritage & Library Services SPC
Sinead Moran elected to the Environment, Climate Action, Agriculture & Emergency Services SPC
Michael McGrath elected to the Roads & Transportation SPC
Yvonne Finn elected to the Tourism, Recreation, Food & Community Engagement SPC
Convenor of the Secretariat Committee, Sharon Horkan, welcomed the new members to the SPC Committees and wished the retiring members continued success in their endeavours.
Mary Costello, PPN Resource Worker welcomed the new members recently elected to the PPN Secretariat committee, Edith Geraghty, Austin F. O’Malley, Caitriona Cunniffe, Thomas Calvey, Mary G Duffy, Kathy Rowland and Maureen Timlin. She gave an update on the activities of the PPN and the new suite of training programmes currently being rolled out to community groups registered with Mayo PPN. The PPN’s new website was also launched at the Castlebar Municipal District meeting and elections.
