An Géagáin Residents Association (AGRA)
An Géagáin Residents Association (AGRA) was setup in 2016 in order to bring together and give a voice to the residents of this private housing estate (16 houses) which was built in 2006 on the Clonbur Road in Ballinrobe, Co. Mayo. We collect an annual maintenance fee from all our residents which we use primarily for the maintenance and upkeep of our estate (grass-cutting of common areas, landscaping, etc.). We organise both estate cleanup and family fun days on an annual basis in order to encourage residents to take pride in their local area and to give something back. We have been successful on numerous occasions in the annual local Tidy Towns competition and have received numerous awards in the small estate category as a result. In 2018 we erected an name plaque at the entrance to our estate and in 2020 we affiliated a wild meadow to the rear of our estate with the ARK organisation to encourage bio-diversity and re-wilding (see Areas of Restorative Kindness at http://wearetheark.org/). We look forward to continuing to progress this good work in the future.
