We are hoping to honour Arthur Muffeny who was a philanthropist, businessman who rebuilt most of old Ballina. Land League campaigner, spent two terms of imprisonment for opposing landlordism & evictions. Friend of Charles Stewart Parnell & Ml Davitt. Led the campaign to erect the Humbert Monument when he Invited Maud Gonne the laying of the foundation stone and the unveiling.
