Burrishoole Community Partnership CLG
Burrishoole Community Partnership Ltd. (BCP) is a grouping of representatives of local sporting and community organisations formed in 2014 to deliver new recreational, educational and sports facilities to the Burrishoole Community. The BCP has developed a Project Plan for a Community Resource Centre, Playing Pitch (in-process), Walking Trail and associated Parking/Landscaping on a site adjacent to McGovern Park on the Glenhest Road leading out of Newport. On this site, the plan is to build a multi-purpose community facility that will serve the needs of everyone in the community. The multi-purpose building will offer: • Meeting/training/education rooms • Changing rooms and a double height sports/recreational hall. • A community playing pitch suitable for Gaelic, soccer, rugby etc. • Associated parking and landscaping. • A walking track around the perimeter of the site. The development is adjacent to the McGovern Park GAA pitch and only a few minutes’ walk to the local school and Newport town center represent an ideal location. Planning Permission (P14/556) has been approved for the development and is endorsed by Mayo County Council.
