Is Feidir Linn Tradeschool (Irish for “We Can”) is a newly established practical training organisation in County Mayo focused on supporting young people through hands-on skills development and real-world experience in a range of trades and workplace environments. We are a registered company limited by guarantee 1. Practical, Hands-On Training The school delivers training that emphasises doing real trade work rather than sitting in a traditional classroom. Students get on-site, project-based experience in different skilled trades such as carpentry, plumbing, fabrication, hospitality, aviation and automotive engineering. 2. Broad Range of Courses & Pathways It offers practical courses across several disciplines for Carpentry & Construction Plumbing & Mechanical Skills Steel fabrication and welding 3D design & printing Hospitality and customer service Automotive and plant machinery operation This variety helps participants explore trades that match their interests and aptitudes. 3. Personal & Life Skills Beyond technical trade work, the programme includes life skills training budgeting, communication, wellbeing, CV writing, interview practice and workplace readiness skills. This helps students transition successfully into employment or further training. 4. Industry Accreditation & Recognition Courses are accredited by LANTRA, a recognised awarding body for land-based and practical industry skills in Ireland and the UK, so learners can earn qualifications that employers respect. 5. Support for Young People Who Didn’t Thrive in Standard Schooling Is Feidir Linn is designed for 16–18-year-olds (and similar cohorts) who may have struggled in mainstream education or been disconnected from formal learning. It offers an alternative education pathway that builds confidence as well as skills.
