Killala Sustainable Energy Community CLG

The Killala Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) is a part of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) Network. Killala SEC is a registered non-profit company to improve the energy efficiency of homes in the community. They aim to focus on measures to reduce reliance on fossil fuel heating and transition to heat pumps or other sustainable technologies. Additionally, they are looking at ways to reduce energy consumption in transport. The overall goal is to reduce local energy bills, and help develop a more sustainable and secure energy system for the local environment while strengthening the local economy. Killala SEC is now entering into a three-year Partnership Agreement with SEAI. During this time, SECs will have access to SEAI technical support to help establish a baseline Energy Master Plan (EMP). They have received 20k in funding to identify energy-saving opportunities.
