We are a voluntary group who are recording our local heritage by using a website which was set up in partnership with The National Museum of Country Life Turlough. We receive training and support through the museum and are members of iCAN Network Ireland. We started in 2010 as a sub group of Cairdre Killeen which was a women's group providing education and training in Killeen. As members have moved on and Cairdre Killeen are no longer an organisation we are now a community group of volunteers who aim to record our local heritage and preserve our local traditions by sharing these on our Website which is accessible to everyone. Anyone can contribute to the website and we also reach out to the community by getting involved in local projects including local schools. We are hoping to gain new members and engage more in our community with the senior members by interviewing them and would like to host some heritage week events later in the year. We are looking forward to being a member of Mayo PPN.
