The Michael Davitt Museum comes under the category of social enterprise. As a social enterprise we create an element of social impact as we encourage an appreciation of place and culture. We preserve heritage, create opportunities for learning across all ages and create local employment through a Community Employment Scheme. The value of our local Museum is the link back to the community, it creates a place for people to visit and learn in a small rural part of Mayo.
