Muintir Chathair na Mart

We have a lively organisation which contributes to many aspects of the Town of Westport primarily showcasing our Irish language, culture and heritage. We are a growing organisation, open to everyone – gender, race, or class. Our primary aim is to provide a platform for those who wish to have an opportunity to speak Irish_or to engage with our ancient history through research in Irish manuscripts. A big interest of fluent Irish speakers and foreigners alike is placenames which derive from the Irish language.
