Newport Junior Set Dancers Club

Newport Junior Set Dancers club set up in 2007 by some parents of members of the dancing club, as they saw a need to have funds for various events that the junior set dancers were involved in. Fundraising takes place throughout the year which involves annual church gate collection and junior ceilís. Monies raised goes towards uniforms, music for competitors at competitions and transport to Fleadhs, for the dancers. In 2022 we had 3 groups from the club taking part in the All Ireland Fleadh, one of which brought home medals! The whole trip cost €1400, as transport, music, uniforms had to be paid for. Our fundraising over Covid was non-existent. We want to continue the club so as to give every child a chance to take part in all these activities and continue the inclusion of all to carry on our Irish tradition within the community.
