Seanchaí Iorrais – Erris Storytellers

Seanchaí Iorrais, is a new drama group in Erris bringing storytelling alive on stage with our drama productions. A seanchaí (SHAN-ə-khee,) is a traditional Gaelic storyteller or historian, serving as an oral repository. The word seanchaí, means a bearer of "old lore" (seanchas). We are a small amateur troupe from all over the barony of Erris in County Mayo, brought together to perform stage drama. The aim is to provide an inclusive theatre ensemble. Our motto, "Find your light" Many of our members have overcome challenges and are focused on helping through the psychosocial impact of the creative process.
