St. Colman’s Care Centre CLG

St. Colman's Care Centre CLG was established in 1986 and provides care and social support services, supporting the large older population of the Achill parish. 25% of the local population of 3,400 are aged 65 years and older. Many people live alone or with another older person. Services include a nurse led day care service for people with dementia, chronic illness and disability and people who attend for social support. Home meals are delivered to households, 5 days weekly throughout the Achill parish. A broad range of social activities are delivered to enable older people to engage with their peers and participate in a variety of social and therapeutic experiences.
