1. History of Swinford Community Centre Swinford Community Recreation Centre Limited was incorporated in Ireland on May 1, 1978, and is still active today. The centre is involved in providing recreational facilities and activities in the town of Swinford, which is a hub for sports and culture in East Mayo. 2. Executive Summary Swinford Community Centre is a vital hub for our local community, providing space for physical activity, meetings, social events, and wellbeing programmes. It provides sports, recreational, cultural, and educational facilities for people of all ages. 3. Background and Need Our community centre serves approximately 20 different types of groups and local residents each year, offering activities for all age groups, including Basketball, Roller skating/Hockey , Irish Dancing, Handball , Squash , GAA , LGFA, Athletics , Foroige youth groups, registration office for Ireland West ¾ marathon annually, Darkness into Light , Community events like birthday parties and used by the community.
