Review of Mayo Renewable Energy Strategy
Mayo County Council has commenced the review of the Mayo Renewable Strategy 2011-2020 and the preparation of a new Renewable Energy Strategy for the county.
The Strategy will set out a vision for the future Renewable Energy Development of Mayo and contain objectives to achieve the vision.
An important aim will be to ensure a balance between facilitating the development of the county whilst protecting the environment for future generations. The Plan will give guidance on where future developments should be located in the county, along with guidance on other matters such as layout and design of developments.

Your responses will remain confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of developing the Renewable Energy Strategy for County Mayo. The consultation period is open between Friday 26th July 2024 until 5pm on Friday 6th September 2024 until 5pm.

Mayo County Council adopted a Renewable Energy Strategy for County Mayo on 9th May 2011. The Strategy sets out a path to allow County Mayo to contribute to meeting the national legally-binding renewable energy targets and sets out opportunities for individuals, communities and businesses to harness renewable energy in a sustainable manner and to assist in combating climate change.
