Restart a Heart Day Demo – 11th October

Hollymount Community First Responder & Hollymount/Carramore CFR are holding a FREE blood pressure check with demos and information on how to set up a CFR group in other areas.

Location: Tesco Claremorris Saturday 11th October to mark World Restart a Heart Day on the 16th of October.

Hollymount Community First Responders completed their Cardiac First Responder – Advanced in January 2025.

This is the highest level of training available in Ireland for Community First Responders. In addition to that training they are fortunate and lucky to have their Responders working in the medical field as their day job.

This brings vast range of Emergency Medical & Trauma experience to your door step if required.

How it works:

Once a specific 999 call is made such as Cardiac Arrest, stroke or choking, the volunteer Community First Response in that area receives the exact same text the exact same time as the Ambulance Service.

They are a fully volunteer group on call 24/7 365 days a year and they are at patient’s home in between 3 and 8 minutes 90 % of the time.

Since January 2025 they are now up skilled to receive Advanced Emergency calls in addition to the original calls mentioned above.

These calls are: Trauma Calls, Falls, Fractures, Hypothermia, Hyperthermia, Concussion, Seizures, Limb loss, Burns, Etc.

They cover a Radius of 10.5km or 21Km diameter from Hollymount Village.
