Mayo earned a place in the top 10 as one of the counties with the greenest homes in the country after performing well across all categories. Switcher.ie’s latest research has revealed the counties with the most eco-friendly homes in Ireland and the annual, sustainable growth in each region.
Mayo is the 10th most eco-friendly county in Ireland, as solar panel installations jump by 54%.
It performed well in many areas; notably, it had the highest number of roof insulations and the fourth highest number of property upgrades.
In 2024, Mayo saw a 54% jump in SEAI solar panel installations and a 28% increase in homes with BER ratings of B2 or higher.
Wicklow, Meath, Galway, Louth, Wexford, Cork, Kildare, Dublin, Kerry, and Mayo were the top ten counties with the most sustainable homes. In 2024, the County Mayo saw a whopping 54% jump in SEAI solar panel installation, and a 28% increase in homes with BER ratings of B2 or higher.
