Time: Monday January 19th 7.00-8.15pm
Who Should Attend? This webinar is open to parents and guardians of teens and those working with young people.
University of Galway lecturer, best-selling author and parent Dr. Malie Coyne will explore why young people who are autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent can be more vulnerable to social exclusion and loneliness.
She will explain how differences in communication, sensory experience, and emotional regulation can make friendships more difficult to navigate, particularly in today’s online world, where real-life connection is increasingly rare.
She will share compassionate, practical tools for parents and caregivers to help their neurodivergent children experience safety, build confidence, express emotions, and develop meaningful friendships while being their authentic selves. With warmth and hope, Malie will offer reassurance and guidance to help neurodivergent teens move from feeling excluded to feeling connected, finding their tribe and a true sense of belonging.

Overview

HeritACT is a three-year, European-funded project that activates heritage through engaging experiences aimed at sustainable development. The project involves 14 partners across five European countries and uses seven digital tools (the HeritACT toolkit) to implement nine heritage solutions in three pilot sites: Milan, Elefsina, and Ballina. In Ballina, the project explores how institutional buildings and sites can serve as shared centres supporting the EU Green Deal and the New European Bauhaus, while preserving social, cultural, and artistic heritage and welcoming new communities. In early 2026 six solutions will be progressed in Ballina, reactivating underused spaces for public and community use. This evening event also marks the introduction of HeritACT’s nature-based solution to Kathleen Lynn Lane & Courtyard, scheduled to take place in February 2026.

This event is free but ticketed – tickets are available via Eventbrite(www.eventbrite.ie/e/1980097528009?aff=oddtdtcreator)

Tickets are now on sale for A Song For Palestine A Drama by Tommy Cooke.
A Song For Palestine is a drama that looks at how our Irish history, with landlordism and famine, in some ways is mirrored by the genocide in Palestine today. It looks at the devastation and futility of war, all war.
It asks if war and genocide as method of solving problems is sustainable for the future of mankind. But its main contribution , if successful, will be to provide some finance for water in a sovereign country that needs water for the survival of millions of its peaceful residents, men, women and children.
All proceeds go to water for Gaza.

Linenhall Arts Centre Castlebar,
All Welcome.
Free

Come and find out about the Mayo Mbira Project at this free taster event. Get hands-on with the mbira, try it out for yourself, and learn what the project is all about.

The workshops focus on traditional mbira music from Zimbabwe. Mbira music is community music: alongside mbira playing, it includes shakers, clapping, dancing, and singing. We’ll learn one traditional tune at a time, along with its song lines, with an emphasis on listening, rhythm patterns, and song-sharing so you can continue learning between sessions. The Mayo Mbira Project is suitable for beginners and those with some musical experience. All are welcome.

Mayo Mbira Project is an initiative of Linenhall Arts Centre supported by CYPSC International Protection Fund & Arts Council Ireland.
