The following is a list of some of the funding streams that are open to applications during February & March 2024.

Local Enhancement Programme 2024
Closing Date for submission of applications through the online portal is 3pm Thursday, 15th February 2024.
The Department of Rural and Community Development Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2024 will provide small scale capital funding to support community groups across Mayo, with a separate ring-fenced fund available to Women’s Groups under the Programme.
This capital fund will support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities, purchase equipment such as tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies and training equipment etc.
The following funding will be available:
Category 1: Grants up to €1,000
Category 2: Grants from €1,001 – €7,500
Category 3: Women’s Group Funding Applicants only: Grants up to €7,500.
The LEP 2024 Application process is through an online portal. All information is available on Mayo County Council website here

HSE – National Lottery Grants
Closing Date for submission of applications is Friday, 16th Feb 2024.
The HSE offers National Lottery grants to health and social care projects. Community groups and voluntary organisations can apply. You must provide health or social care services to the community. For example, you might help people with a disability, older people, carers or disadvantaged groups.
Projects they can fund
They can fund one-off projects and services that improve the health of communities. For example, you can apply for funding to: · buy equipment and small fixtures and fittings like hoists, tables, and chairs · run camps, classes, courses, personal development training, information or activity events.
You must be able to start and finish your project in the same year you apply for the grant.
Respite care – Your group or organisation may apply for funding for short-term or once-off respite care. For example, if your organisation supports carers you might apply for funding for respite care or a break for carers or the people they are caring for.
You must use your respite care funding by 30 June the following year. How much you can apply for You can apply for between €300 and €10,000 in funding for each project. You can apply for funding for more than 1 project. But there is a limit on how much funding you can get from your local HSE Community Healthcare Organisation (CHO). The maximum that a CHO can give to an organisation or group is €10,000.

Fáilte Ireland’s Regional Festival & Participative Events Funding Programme 2024
Closing date for submission of applications is Friday, 23rd February 2024.
Mayo County Council wish to announce an open call for funding under Fáilte Ireland’s Regional Festival & Participative Events Programme 2024. The programme aims to support festivals and participative events that will drive domestic tourism and help to improve the visitor experience in Mayo.

Mayo Sports Partnership is seeking expressions of interest from communities for a Community Sports Hub
Closing date for submission of applications is Wednesday, 28th February 2024 at 5pm.
The key objective is to increase the number of people of all ages participating in sport and physical activity in their communities targeting disadvantaged areas with a specific focus on adolescents / young people. For more information Click HERE

Oweninny Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund 2023 CATEGORY 4, small-scale capital projects, – Rest Of County (outside Oweninny Targeted Area).
Closing date for submission of Applications through the online portal is Friday, 1st March 2024 at 5pm.
Mayo County Council invites online applications from qualifying community groups from outside the defined Oweninny Windfarm Community Benefit Fund Target Area for funding, under Category 4 – small-scale capital projects, Rest of County, under the Oweninny Windfarm Community Benefit Fund 2023.
Small Scale Capital Projects Max. Grant €5,000.
Qualifying Categories:-
For an application to be considered for funding under the Scheme, it must satisfy at least one of the following categories:
- Amenities; Culture/Heritage; Education; Recreation/Health; Social Inclusion; Community Development; Environment.
Qualifying Criteria:-
A qualifying criterion applies, including membership of Mayo PPN.
Benefitting entity is required to be a community based voluntary / enterprise organisation and providing benefit to people and communities in County Mayo, outside of the defined Target Area. Further details, including a map of the defined Target Area are available here.
The Fund will support:-
- Groups around purchase of equipment e.g., tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies, and training equipment etc.
- Communities, community groups/committees allowing them to continue to provide valuable services to the people in their area, and in the process strengthen the bonds that tie communities together.
Examples of Projects that could receive funding under CATEGORY 4 include:
- Development / renovation of community centres
- Community amenities
- Development of youth clubs or facilities
- Development of sports/ recreation facilities
- Improvements to town parks and common areas and spaces
- Public realm improvements
- Streetscaping
- Development of play / recreation spaces
- Energy efficiency type projects
Before you Start – We recommend that you have the following supporting documents to hand:-
- PPN Number
- Charity Number (if applicable)
- Tax Reference Number (if applicable)
- Tax Clearance Access Number (if applicable)
- Details of Income Received from any other source
- Bank Statement Header – recent, and in applicant Group name
- Capital – 3 quotations per element to meet National procurement requirements
- Current Costs– costs relevant to October 2023 – December 2024.

International Protection Integration Fund 2024
Closing date for submission of applications is Wednesday, 6th March 2024 at 12pm.
- €1,500,000 will be made available to community based organisations to carry out integration projects at a national, regional or local level to support the integration of International Protection Applicants.
- Grants of €30,000 to €100,000 will be allocated to successful Scheme A integration initiatives.
- Grants of €2,000 to €10,000 will be allocated to successful Scheme B integration initiatives.
The Minister of State for Integration, Joe O’Brien, has approved €1,500,000 in funding under the International Protection Integration Fund 2024.
Now in its third year, the International Protection Integration Fund celebrates rich cultural diversity and enables community based organisations across Ireland to play a greater role in supporting the integration of International Protection Applicants. Successful Scheme A organisations stand to receive grant funding of €30,000 – €100,000 to support large scale integration projects. Successful Scheme B organisations stand to receive grant funding of €2,000 – €10,000 to support smaller integration initiatives.
